SEMIAHMOO RAVENS ANNOUNCE 2024-25 SKILL DEVELOPMENT LINE UP 

White Rock / South Surrey (August 6th, 2024) – The Semiahmoo Ravens are excited to announce their skill development coaching roster for the 2024-25 season.   

Shane Kuss and Matt Erhart will continue to work with the skill development roster, enhancing our extended skills program by offering more focused skill development in the areas of power skating and positional specific skills.   

U7 Skills Instruction will be run by Keenan Scardina.  

Scardina played three seasons of Junior Hockey in the VIJHL, BCHL and SJHL. In addition to coaching, Keenan remains an active player in recreational leagues, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to the sport. He strives to instill in his players the same love and respect for hockey that he has and is proud to be a part of the Semiahmoo Ravens Hockey family once again. 

U9 Skills Instruction will be run by Shane Kuss, Matt Erhart, Chace Oliver, Jason Oliver and Cheryl-Lynn Oliver.  

Since Shane & Matt joined the Ravens six years ago, Semiahmoo has seen an increase in registrants while also enjoying significant on ice success. Last season they led our U13 A1 team to win the PCAHA regular season and playoff banner, as well as the BC Hockey Provincial Championship. They were also the first team from BC to advance to the final game of the Quebec International Pee Wee Tournament in February. 

Chace Oliver is a returning coach who played AAA minor hockey in Portland, Oregon and Phoenix, Arizona.  His team, the Arizona Bobcats, won the PeeWee Quebec Tournament. He also played in the BCHL with the Victoria Grizzlies.  Chace has done some off season coaching for the past 5 years with ages 8 – Junior.  This past season he has been an assistant coach with his father with two teams at the U11 rep and U15 rep level, and head coach for U13 A3.  

Jason Oliver is a returning coach with over 30 years of coaching experience. His experience spans skill development at all levels from Hockey 1 to NHL players. He has coached 4 different teams who have qualified for the U13 tournament in Quebec in the top division and had one team win it. He won the NAPHL league U16AAA and was named Coach of the Year in the league. Jason made it to the semi-finals at U16 AAA Nationals (with a different team) as well.  

Cheryl-Lynn Oliver has been a power skating coach for 15 years and a figure skating coach for 5 years. She has a level 2 CFSA and level 3 hockey coach for USA hockey. She has experience coaching from learn-to-skate to pro level hockey players.  

U9 Prospects Skills Instruction will be run by Shane Kuss, Matt Erhart, Chace Oliver, Jason Oliver and Cheryl-Lynn Oliver.  

U11 C Teams Skills Instruction will be run by Chace Oliver. 

U11 Prospects Skills Instruction will be run by Keenan Scardina. 

U11 Rep Skills Instruction will be run by Shane Kuss and Matt Erhart. 

U13 C Teams Skills Instruction will be run by Chace Oliver. 

U13 Prosects Skills Instruction will be run by Keenan Scardina and Richard Mueller. 

Mueller played 5 years in the Western Hockey League for the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Calgary Hitmen. He went on to play 18 successful years in Europe, including Germany and Sweden. Richard won a total of 5 Championships while playing in Europe and had the honour of being placed on the 2010 Olympic Roster with Team Germany.   

U13 Rep Skills Instruction will be run by Shane Kuss and Matt Erhart.  

U15 Rep Skills Instruction will be run by Bayne Koen.  

Koen is currently the Head Coach of the U17 Prep team at Saint George Saints academy CSSHL and will be going back for his 4th year this upcoming season.  

He has previously worked with Semiahmoo Minor Hockey as a Head coach for the U-16 Development and also the U18 A1 team.  

Koen has 20 years coaching experience, with hockey clubs such as the North Van Wolf Pack, the Port Coquitlam Buckaroos, the Richmond Sockeyes and the Prince George Spruce Kings. Coach Koen led the Wolf Pack to the 2019 PJHL League Championship and has most recently led the Saints U17 Prep team to the 2024 CSSHL U17 Prep Tier II Championship title.
