Ravens And Whalers announce new partnership
White Rock, BC (August 15, 2024) – Semiahmoo Minor Hockey Association and The White Rock Whalers are proud to announce the extension of their ongoing partnership. This collaboration further solidifies both team’s commitment to fostering local talent and contributing to the development of future hockey stars and leaders within our community.
“We are thrilled with our new and fully integrated partnership with the Whalers.” Says Ravens Executive Director, Scott Ackles. “This program truly is a major commitment that provides outstanding development opportunities to all our young athletes on and off the ice for all ages to benefit. The White Rock Whalers and Semiahmoo Ravens are committed to supporting the development of talented hockey players and families in our community!”
Key features of this enhanced partnership include:
Collaboration with the U18 Rep Program: This will involve both player and coach skill development, providing advanced video analysis, and offering opportunities for Semiahmoo players to experience the Junior Hockey environment firsthand.
Whalers Affiliate Player Program: Semiahmoo players will have the chance to participate in practices and skills sessions with the Whalers, with the potential for regular season game time with the organization.
Of course, the Whalers will continue their existing initiatives to engage with Semiahmoo Minor
Hockey’s youth programs including the 7th Skater Program , and U7 and U9 mini games at the intermission. Also, keep an eye out for several Semiahmoo Minor Hockey Jersey nights and for White Rock Whalers players to be out to invite Semiahmoo teams into the Whalers new Dryland Training Centre located above the curling rink. They will help teams who are playing their games at Centennial Arena with their pre-game warm-ups!

Semiahmoo Ravens Minor Hockey Association has a membership of 1,000 amateur youth hockey players and supporting families from the communities of White Rock and South Surrey. Formed in 1966, the association enables any child within the community to learn and improve their hockey skills in a safe and respectful environment.
